Reflecting God’s Glory

This is a view of Logan Canyon in Utah. Most of this river flows briskly but this portion was tame and the reflections were amazing. I love the landscape and getting out for a short hike. Even more, I love painting outdoors, capturing the Glory of God. This is a 30” X 24” oil on linen gallery wrapped canvas. It has a wrap-around black frame to enhance the beauty of this landscape.

This is a view of Logan Canyon in Utah. Most of this river flows briskly but this portion was tame and the reflections were amazing. I love the landscape and getting out for a short hike. Even more, I love painting outdoors, capturing the Glory of God. 

The sky illuminating the river is what attracted me to this scene. And, in order to create the illusion that this scene flows into the background I had to pay special attention to perspective. The background mountains were painted in lighter blue tones with the trees in the foreground on the left brighter than the foliage on the right. In that way they appear closer. 

God’s Glory is revealed in the landscape, sunset, sunrize. The way the river illuminates the sky and surrounding foliage, I was impressed with how the water was reflecting God’s glory. That is why this painting is called, “Reflecting God’s Glory.”  If this broken world reflects His glory like this, imagine what heaven looks like. But for now I am painting places like Logan Canyon.

Even more, I love painting outdoors, capturing the Glory of God. This is a 24” x 30” oil on canvas painting. I used Windsor Newton and Michael Harding oils to paint this. But I also use Chelsea Lang mediums and brush cleaner. I love the lavander scent the painting gives off while drying.
